What a great time we all had walking the route of the new artworks from this year’s Riu d’art residency. International, national and local artists worked tirelessly for two weeks sharing ideas, food and drink, experiences whilst getting to know the local people in the village.

Village life is truly complimented by the project, now in it’s 4th year, with neighbours opening their homes to visiting artists for chats, coffee and cake as well as lending their equipment and motivation and critique!

We are delighted to announce the following selected artists for the fourth edition of the Riu d’art residency. Chosen from a record number of applications from over 30 different countries, a total of 9 artists will take part in this year’s event: 4 international artists representing Turkey, Chile, Russia, Lithuania and Italy, 4 national artists and artwork from the local Art School ‘L’Aula d’Art’. The Riu d’art residency will take place for two weeks from 10th of June culminating in an official inauguration on Saturday 22nd of June. Read more »

Riba Rocks is very excited to announce this year’s Call for Artists is NOW OPEN! 2019 will see the fourth annual Riu d’Art International Artist Residency in collaboration with the Youth Councillor of the Ajuntament of Riba-roja d’Ebre.

Previous years have seen international artists from Singapore, Austria, Chile, United States, Finland, Cyprus and the UK come to live and work within the rural village of Riba-roja d’Ebre for two weeks during the summer. Read more »

Yey! It’s olive harvest time again!

This year the weather has been very strange and we were warned that the oil yield would be poor due to a very long summer drought followed by some extremely heavy autumn rain and then a lack of sun to turn the water to oil in the fruit.

The 3rd edition of the Riu d’art residency is complete and we now boast 18 multimedia artworks installed in the village of Riba-roja d’Ebre. Works range from delicate illustrations to large scale murals, from graffiti ‘street art’ and contemporary installation art through to performance and sculpture. The artworks have been created by artists from all over the world including Riba-roja d’Ebre itself, Singapore, Austria and the United States.

Riba Rocks (registered association) was proud to present the official inauguration of the 2018 Riu d’art residency, which took place in Riba-roja d’Ebre on the 30th June 2018. The evening saw an official reception outside the Town Hall where the Riba Rocks Association and the Youth Councillor of the Ajuntament thanked all the artists involved and reiterated the aims and objectives of this residency.

It’s back! The ‘Mercat d’Artesans’ returns on the Saturday 23rd June in Riba-roja d’Ebre from 10am to 8pm. With local and international artisans and artists showcasing and selling their works throughout the day, including prints, cards, silk art and souvenirs, wood turning, ecological products, photography, oils, wines, and much much more!!

From 18th to 30th June 2018, in Riba-roja d’Ebre, the 3rd edition of the initiative Riu d’Art will take place, transforming the rural Catalan village into a hub of creativity.

Open call
The deadline for submitting proposals is 15th April 2018, and it is open to all artists, regardless of their nationality, aged between 25 and 40 years. Interested artists should send their applications to info@riudart.cat including one or more artistic proposals, as well as other supporting documents detailed within the submission document. We are so excited to be co-organising the first ‘Mercat d’Artesans’ in Riba-roja d’Ebre on Saturday the 23rd of December from 11am until 5pm in the Town Hall square and the Jubilats square will showcase handmade artisan products of silk, wood and stone as well as oils, wines, demonstrations and much, much more!
